About the Guilbert's Chocolate Store

The original store on Park Street.
History of Guilbert's
Monsieur Guilbert, a Swiss Chocolatier brought his expertise to Bristol, opening his first store on Park Street in 1910. Shortly thereafter he opened a second store on Milsom street in Bath. During WWII the Park Street store was bombed and Guilbert's moved to Gloucester Road. In 1958 Guilbert's moved to its location in Leonard Lane, just off Corn Street. 100 years of making chocolates in England, a fine tradition indeed. Re-branding and expansion has meant another move for Guilbert’s, determined to stay loyal to its heritage it has opened its new shop/ factory at the famous Foster rooms, former home of the 15th Century merchant John Foster, it’s believed to be the oldest Bristol building still in commercial use.
